Beltane 1993 was a smoky frightening time, as this was the time of the rebellion associated with the Rodney King verdict. We decided to empower ourselves with an invocation for peace, by way of this collective crayon collage.
Hearts and hands reach across a city afire, a Phoenix is reborn, all under a spiral eye and galaxy.
The invocation reads:
La Cuidad de Angeles
La Cuidad de suenos
Las Mujeres brujas esparamos
para suenos grandes
(intended translation: The city of angles, the city of dreams, we witchy women hope for grand dreams)
